
Carbohydrates are the single most consumed food in the world. It can also be argued that it is also the cause of the rise in obesity and the rising numbers of people becoming diabetic. Do not misunderstand, there is nothing wrong with carbohydrates, it is how carbs are consumed, the type and when. Let’s list the different kinds of carbs and how they are consumed. Breads, pastries, doughnuts, candy, soda, green beans, potatoes, rice, pasta etc. All these are considered carbohydrates that the body uses for energy. They can be further broken down into fibrous, non fibrous, slow burning or fast burning. All of the carbohydrates listed above are normally consumed with some type of calorie laden topping that has more calories than the food itself. Couple that with extreme amounts of sodium and you can see how the poor eating habits of some people drives them into the obesity range.
All carbs are not created equal so the type of carbs is very important. For instance, if you
only ate breads, pastries and doughnuts for your carbohydrate source then your body will more than likely convert and store it as fat because those type of carbs have a high glycemic index which floods your blood system with too much sugar that cannot be utilized all at once and therefore results in fat storage. A better choice of carbohydrates would be foods like green beans, rice, corn, blackeye peas etc. These foods are low on the glycemic index with the exception of rice and are slow burning which do not flood your system with too much sugar. By the way all carbohydrates can be considered as sugar because that is the form that the human body converts it to for energy or its more technical name glucose.
That finally brings us to when is the best time to eat carbohydrates. Breads , pastries and doughnuts are normally consumed at breakfast, Lunch and dinner; while candy, soda and other confections are consumed in the afternoon and evening. Read carefully what I am about to say because too many people do not understand this. THE LATER YOU EAT AND THE MORE YOU EAT SUGAR LOADED CARBOHYDRATES THROUGHOUT THE DAY AND IN THE EVENING WITHOUT HAVING SOME TYPE OF FITNESS TRAINING PROGRAM TO COUNTER BAD EATING HABITS; THE MORE YOU ARE AT RISK OF BECOMING OBESE AND EVENTUALLY BECOMING A DIABETIC. In the FASTSHAPE VISUAL TRAINING PROGRAM, the best time to consume any of those sweet things you desire is morning to midday and not at the end of the day.
